About staple & hue.

A woman’s wardrobe foundation should feel as considered as the rest of her life.

Staple & Hue is an independent Los Angeles womenswear label creating elevated, feminine staples designed to make everyday dressing feel effortless.

Founded in 2017 by self-taught designer Sera Bagnall, the brand began with a belief that the pieces women wear most often should still feel special. Each style is shaped around fabric, proportion and subtle detail - creating clothing that feels comfortable and instinctive, while still making an outfit look considered.

These are the pieces you reach for first: flattering enough to make you feel confident, versatile enough to work with what you already own, and distinctive enough to never feel like just another basic.

Our approach

Designed for repeat wear

Staple & Hue is designed around real wardrobes and everyday life. Each piece is intended to move easily between quiet mornings, work, travel, dinner and everything in between.

Fabric first

How a garment feels is as important as how it looks. Tactile fabrics, flattering stretch and considered construction create pieces that feel good against the body and hold their place in your wardrobe.

Small-run production

Collections are produced in limited quantities rather than mass volumes. This allows us to create more intentionally while preserving the feeling of discovering something not everyone else owns.

Understated femininity

Our approach to femininity is subtle rather than overt. Soft fabrics, flattering proportions and thoughtful details make simplicity feel distinctive.

The founder

Sera Bagnall is the New Zealand-born, self-taught founder and designer of Staple & Hue. After establishing the brand in Australia, she relocated to Los Angeles to build its next chapter in the United States.

Her design process begins with how women actually live in clothing: what they return to, what makes them feel confident and what allows them to look put together without overthinking it.

Since its launch, Staple & Hue has grown through editorial, retail, celebrity dressing and creative collaboration, including a co-designed collection with Karrueche Tran and features across Vogue, Hypebae, Who What Wear and more.

Independent. Founder-led. Designed in Los Angeles. Made to be worn on repeat.
